Hi there & welcome.I am originally from Great Yarmouth in Norfolk but now so very lucky to be living in North Yorkshire with my other (some say better?) half Kim who did dance in her younger years. What a place to live as we are within minutes of the Yorkshire Dales National Park & only half hour or so from the Lake District National Park.We also have our 'Tuxedo' cat Binky we got from a rescue centre in October 2024 after losing our beloved ginger Tom Toffee in September 2024.I got the photography bug around 1981 while at school, I learned how to use a camera & the basics & got hooked with the creating process & have been snapping with a camera ever since. When I left School I went straight in to the Photographic industry for around seventeen years, I worked in several photographic labs/studios (I worked for Kodak Processing Companies for a few years as a Mini-Lab manager). Before moving North I had my own business covering weddings, portraits & commercial work.At School I had no idea what I wanted to do in life until my Mum said 'You really enjoy your photography, why don't you look into a career in that line of work' - The ball started to roll... I am self taught but I do have a City & Guilds module one qualification and I am also a registered member of The Guild of Photographers.Stuff I like to do:Love the Highlands, North West Coast of Scotland & the Islands of Mull & Skye.Getting out & being ''outdoorsy'' around & on the Lakeland Fells & Scottish Mountains (come sun or snow).Riding my motorbike when the weather up here is being kind, I'm also a biker photographer which is another side to my photography.Generally chilling with Kim (who you might meet as she often assists me with photo shoots).Oh & I like cake, any cake apart from that fruit cake stuff & the best dessert is Apple Crumble with lashings of Custard!
My aim with your Photo Shoot & Images
If you've read the above you can see I've been using cameras for around 45 or so years... so I do have a little bit of experience behind the camera/lens - Kim would say photography is in my blood. I must confess I do love planning Photo Shoots & creating images!It is your Photo Shoot so I would love for you to get involved with suggesting ideas, if you have something you want to try? don't be afraid to ask!I try to make Photo Shoots fun so be prepared to have a giggle or two!With the Creative Photo Shoot images I aim to create images that people are going to say: OH WOW is that really you? Instead of: Oh! that's nice... A piece of art that hopefully you might want to hang on your wall.. Something you will look back on & think to yourself: I can't believe that is actually me.If you have any questions or wish to enquire about a Photo Shoot, please just contact me & I will try my hardest to answer whatever it is you need to know. No question is a silly question if you don't know the answer!As you can see by the bottom two images opposite, we definitely do have a giggle or two.
